Comptoir Saint-Michel

I had two starters plus dessert. Both starters, foie gras and ham with melon, were both fine and the chocolate dessert was simply delicious. The staff were friendly and efficient, and I got to meet the chef.

We found this after a quick web search and we were lucky. We spent 5 days in Nancy and nothing else came close. Beautiful setting in the old town and really great food. Who doesn’t love a stone spiral staircase to visit the loo ?

Had a really enjoyable meal here last night. Very imaginative cooking, good value for money and excellent, friendly service. Would recommend.

Located in the very heart of the old city, the Comptoir Saint-Michel offers some great food for reasonable prices. We started with a cool and refreshing cold vegetable soup (Gazpacho), then I had some really excellent veal kidneys (rognons de veau), while my wife opted for the Beer Tartar (hand sliced, with salad only instead of fries). The rose wine was fitting nicely, and the friendly family staff made our stay very pleasant. All together an excellent lunch, and good value for money.

Great restaurant in a lovely city. Food was lovely. Wine was great. Made our small, quiet dog feel very welcome. Very highly recommended
